Oct 29, 2011 - @Composer1777 Exactly what I was hinting at, except I probably meant level III.

Oct 30, 2011 - Wow it penetrated quite a bit before it released all that energy. Looked as effective as a 9mm or 38 special. with 20 of those you can't go wrong. I am a 45acp guy but I would be very satisfied with a service pistol that delivered those kinda result. I here the SS190 or (duty round) is more impressive. Any plans to review the ss190? I imagine they would let you get it for testing purposes?
BrassFetcher mowi:
Oct 30, 2011 - The SS-190 is similar to the SS-195 in bare gelatin

Nov 25, 2011 - 5.7x28 = +P .22 Magnum I'll take some 7.62x25 instead, please.
MrBoo88 mowi:
Nov 27, 2011 - Will the +P .22 Mag defeat body armor? Will it feed reliable in a pistol or a full auto sub machine gun? Does it have a track record of killing in law enforcement use? Why do people all over the world keep buying this 5.7 round and its guns? Why don't you look it up.
Tezcatlepocatl mowi:
Nov 27, 2011 - 1. Most likely yes, it will defeat Type I and IIA armor, or even a II if it has a steel core. 2. There are at least 3 semi-auto pistol models in existence that reliably feed 22 WMR. Look them up. 3. No, but hunters take medium game with it (though not legally). People are medium-game-sized. 4. Because FN did an excellent job of hyping it beyond what it is. Police Issue 5.7x28mm muzzle energy: 530 joules Standard .22 WMR muzzle energy: 440 joules; +P would likely push it up to 500.

Nov 27, 2011 - Just irritates me how the people in the gun world get crazy over rounds. I use a .45 for carry. But I used 9mm and .40. I even had the 7.62x25. My thing is over-penetration. The one reason I use the .45 so it is less likely to go through. I loved the cz-52 I had. Little fire blaster.
SludgeCityGore mowi:
Dec 19, 2011 - Ill stick with my 10mm. More damage, easier to find ammo, easier to reload. A $1000 pistol with a new trial cartridge isnt worth the time. Ill pay a third for the pmr-30 as i would for the FN.
WhiteTrashRenegade13 mowi:
Dec 19, 2011 - Holy shit why do people look for some magical round that doesent exist. If i shoot you 6 times with a .22lr then guess what? Your dead okay thats it so stfu all of you
Fotis416 mowi:
Dec 21, 2011 - What does it do at 2100 fps which is the muzzle velocity with the FN factory load? This video is equivalent to a 60 yard shot more or less?
ComradeSn1P3r mowi:
Jan 1, 2012 - It makes sense considering the 5.7x28 round was designed for penetration through body armor. Pretty cool design.

Jan 24, 2012 - The one thing that bodies have that ballistics gel doesn't is BONES! This is an impressive video with the mil. Spec. round...but use appropriate ammo is everything. The 40gr blue tipped round is made for expansion and has only about 8inches penetration (however with remarkable explosive destructive force from expansion). Don't undersell this round or over-hype what the civilian rounds will do. Lastly, it's an FNP! Drop it in the dirt, fire ire it 1000 rounds without cleaning it. Carry it

Feb 3, 2012 - I have a Five Seven and I would never want to get hit with one of those rounds. The velocity is incredible from a pistol and it hits verry hard for a small projectile. Of course the rifle version will smoke the pistols performance, but if you have not tried one, you should for shure. It is a fascinating gun to shoot.
Nater245689 mowi:
Mar 7, 2012 - Lol, that's called the "neck" and it's present with basically any bullet design. Ideally, you don't want a neck of more than 2.5-3" in calibrated ballistics gelatin. The 5.7x28mm just doesn't have attractive internal ballistics, especially in a pistol. It's only claim to fame is that it's better than HK's PDW cartridge.
ASSASSYN360 mowi:
Mar 21, 2012 - I love my five seven. Such a brutal firearm. It would be a bitch to have one rip through you. The exit wound and internal damage must be insane.

Mar 21, 2012 - fort hood texas, 13 dead,29 injured....duh

Mar 21, 2012 - I to love my 5.7, it has very little kick so you stay spot on which is very bad news for the bad guy,its lite, it wont scare your women to shoot it, and you got a shit load of fire power , though i cant see any reason you would need it, better to much than running out. i carry 6-8 mag's
gunlver mowi:
Apr 4, 2012 - I love mine too! It's an awesome cal. And the 20 and 30 round mags that makes it even better. The ammo is a bit pricey but oh well. It's light even with a 30 round clip in the well. And its a great gun to carry and I've found its accuracy is great even out in the 60 to 100 yard range.
lithjimmy mowi:
Apr 9, 2012 - over penetration and temporary cavitation equal to a 380 acp. atleast that what it looks like from here. Im sure it has its place and the capacity and lack of recoil is appealing but I just dont see this as beating the 9mm. Although itd be interesting to see a little keltec chambered for this round
xXxNORALADYxXx mowi:
Apr 22, 2012 - No damage, very fast but very weak. My .357 mag is better.
attilio26 mowi:
Apr 30, 2012 - Your comparing a 357 magnum to a 5.7 x 28 ?? Ok. People rip on this round all the time but they compare it to a .45 acp .44 mag. Or .357 mag. I guess I'll go with 57
MayorWest8 mowi:
May 2, 2012 - @BrassFetcher could you do a ballistics gel video on the 7.62x25mm Tokarev? I've looked all over the internet and cannot find a high speed video of one. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
