It would peck my head every morning to wake me up and get in bed with me, but when outside if other magpies came anywhere near it would hide behind me, or if was on my hand would grip my hand twice as strong. think its parents had tried to eat it or somet but it escaped.

It was because Moses was not a part of their group and appeared weak because he had no clan of magpies. That is probably the same with yours too.
