Apr 7, 2012 - Thank very much! I have already done research and so far it is not going too well when it comes to dark skinned people. Why they said "They ever uglier than the ganguru girls"? I look up the ganguru girls and I was thinking to myself I barely, if at all, wear any make up and those girls are kinda scary to me. I don't know about other people opinions about them but that's mine opinion. I'm still don't understand one thing: Why going crazy about a black foreigner coming their country?

Apr 8, 2012 - Im Mexican and i want to walk Basho's trail (and have a try at japan). I've actually been planng this trip for quite some time.while i have Japanese friends who assure me ill be fine on the road and the year long stay i am planng it seems that some of my friends (those who are brutaly honest about things) think that having the bit of color i got will be a grievance in the long run. i don't necessarily expect to be welcomed with open arms but id like to know if anyone has had any actual problems

Apr 9, 2012 - I must have tried 8 different companies trying to get a credit card until I finally found one that would give me one. Great video and very true. I would agree with the end too about complaining about discrimination to people who can't do anything about it, but I would argue that it is fair to (for those of us who are English teachers) discuss the issue with our students. Hopefully then the next generation will be more understanding of discrimination that non-japanese face.

Apr 9, 2012 - I think "in other countries" is very broad. You must be from a western country.

mariss711 mowi:

Apr 9, 2012 - it was meant to be broad, as in a bunch of other countries that are not Japan....so ?

CappitranoBellephant mowi:

Apr 9, 2012 - All I'm saying is you said "In other countries you have legal recourse" and in a lot of countries you don't. I think it's mostly in western countries you have that kind of priviledge, that's all I'm sayin.

Apr 12, 2012 - what's important is racism isn't something you try to avoid, it's something you need to learn how to cope with.

Apr 14, 2012 - Most Japanese people just do not like ill-mannered persons/foreigners who take advantage of their hospitality and kindness.

Apr 14, 2012 - there's negatives to any country.there are parts of british culture that annoy me,but i still love living here.i'd still like to live in japan even after seeing this vid.you just have to weigh up the positives and negatives and see if it's for you. plus, there's always going to be someone who will dislike or discriminate against you because of your race, sex, appearance... you name it. i'm not saying it's right, but trying to eradicate all discrimination everywhere is a losing battle.

Apr 21, 2012 - @TheJapanChannelDCom Are you saying that even if you work there you won't be able to get a credit card?

Apr 23, 2012 - Is the bank "discrimination" thing true even with the international banks? Such as Citi, HSBC, etc?

May 7, 2012 - the police in japan, both city, and out in country, are always nice. When I lived in japan, I always was treated with politeness from people, albeit, there was one person (elderly woman) that was my friends grandmother, who had lived in Hiroshima during the bombing, and she still held anger, and did not let me in to her house with my friends family. But that was special circumstance. I still want to return and apply for permanent residence in Japan.

May 7, 2012 - you let a video to take control over your encouragement, sheesh, that is what i call "encouragement".....

May 8, 2012 - Have you been there? Was it like and do you over come discrimination? If so, please make a video about your experience in details then I will consider your words. I'm very serious here.

wububububruno25 mowi:

May 8, 2012 - do you know most big cities in japan, it exists korean racists in there right? they are called 在日 (zainichi) they come to japan and pretend to be japanese and make crimes, become rude and so on, i've met alot of japanese people here in portugal and i can, i've never seen a rude japanese tourist, person working in a restaurant or tea time place. and let me ask you, what kind of "racist" experience did you had?

moiaiyou19 mowi:

May 8, 2012 - Being here in Orlando, FL I was new about 'racism' that at a young age I didn't know what it means when I move up here from PR and I really don't want to experience that again but given that every where is 'racism' or 'discriminatory' I really am discourage to go any where were hate is in a person or group hearts.

wububububruno25 mowi:

May 8, 2012 - in japan, you don't have to worry about racism, some japanese people never seen a foreigner, so if you go there they might stare at you a bit, because they become fascinated to see someone racially different, specially if you visit small villages or towns. but if you go to big cities there might be some places saying "japanese only" but in fact, its only allowing people who can speak japanese and know japanese customs can enter there.

moiaiyou19 mowi:

May 8, 2012 - Wow that's pretty much what im been learning from their news and shows they have about their customs and learning how to speak their dialect. I trying to learn their fashion sense too. Thank you for this advice, wububububruno25. How long you been in Japan?

wububububruno25 mowi:

May 9, 2012 - im planning in going to japan when i grow up, what i learned is mostly from japanese friends, i have

May 11, 2012 - oh so you have not been there...how long you been talking to your friends in Japan?

wububububruno25 mowi:

May 11, 2012 - long time, i've also been researching

moiaiyou19 mowi:
