May 7, 2012 - Germany has an approx. 4-times lower fatal car accident rate than the US. And an over 15-times lower gun death rate than the US. So it's not unfair to criticise Americans on not having weapons banned (or rather to enforce stricter gun laws because guns are not banned in Germany, we just have very strict regulations) but unfair to criticise the German (lack) of speed limit as it is saver than low speed limits and crappy dirving licenses. ;)

As for the Autobahn i found the following figure on the german road safety council's site: They state there were 18829 accidents where people were hurt on the autobahn in the same year as above.

May 22, 2012 - I admit your argument. I only noticed the number of accidents on the autobahn where people were harmed. Sorry for that. The ADAC says 2010 164.976 accidents occured on the entire Autobahn. Much more than the 18.829 in my last comment, but still less than 2 million.

Fact is in 2010 were killed in traffic per 100000 humanoids about, 6 in England, 10 in the USA, 6 in Germany, 9 in Spain, 8 in France, 8 in Italy, 20 in Poland, 16 in eastern Europe - data from Wikipedia. Indeed in Germany the traffic killing rate is one of the lowest worldwide.
