May 30, 2011 - @RWL2011 Nice. I broke a picture with my sub. Simply from vibrations, too. It was sitting on the carpet floor, and the glass vibrated enough for it to crack.

May 31, 2011 - One of the best 2.1 systems. imo.

Jun 2, 2011 - @RWL2011 Z-2200s. I'm saving up for the 5500s, I can get them for pretty cheap near where I live.

Jun 3, 2011 - @0000Jillsandwich0000 Chill dude. For what it is, the Z-2200 sub is actually pretty good. It's not 75w RMS, it's 120. I only have a one story house, but I was shaking the windows of the two storey house *next door*. And next door for me (I live in the country) is at least 100 metres. No, it can't do as well as a PA sub, but that's because it isn't. It doesn't need to be; it's a computer system. Frankly, for what it is, Logitech has done a bloody brilliant job.

Jun 3, 2011 - @RWL2011 Indeed it is.

Jun 3, 2011 - @RWL2011 Agreed. They are a little piercing if you have a lot of treble going through them, but that can be fixed with a little equalization. Also, I get my sub (Z-2200 sub) down to 21 hertz, and I'm sure it's probably going lower, but you can't hear that low. I can get down to 10 hertz, at which it's always fun to crank it and watch. I don't see why you'd need to modify the reflex port, but if you want to feel free.

Jun 3, 2011 - Not quite sure about the best and loudest, but they are pretty amazing.

Jun 3, 2011 - @0000Jillsandwich0000 That's not entirely true. These days those idiots have moved to hooking up their computers to their cars, and most people who buy this kind of thing use them for what they're designed for. We do this kind of thing because it's fun, but it doesn't last. Most people who buy a good 2.1 system aren't clueless, and we really do care about clean treble and natural sounding mids. The bass isn't huge unless you turn it way up & even then it isn't boomy.

Jun 4, 2011 - @0000Jillsandwich0000 Yeh. Mine does hit that low, but it's not very loud, and it does tend to favour the heatsnk at that level. The 21 hertz is fun though. Loud enough to be awesome and low enough to be mind blowing.

Jun 4, 2011 - @0000Jillsandwich0000 Again, not entirely true. My job IS working with professional equipment, but when I come home I don't complain that the quality is any worse, because, frankly, I don't care as long as it's decent. This is mainly because I don't *expect* the perfect, crystal clear sound from it, because it doesn't do that. It's a cheaper option to a lot of other things, and it's still pretty good. Also, you have to remember that they're actually GAMING speakers, not proper hi-fi ones.
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 4, 2011 - One of the main things I fins a little annoying about this sub is how they tuned the range splitter (what puts what ranges to which speaker) puts through up to about 135-140 hz through the sub.
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 5, 2011 - @RWL2011 Okay, thanks man. I couldn't remember what they're called, which is a little embarrassing as I fix them for a living! And I agree, it could benefit from a servo, but for what I use it for, it's fine really. Right now I've got it hooked up to my DJ equipment.
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 5, 2011 - @RWL2011 I presume you're going through some sort of signal sorter of splitter? Also, it's good to see that someone can talk around here without starting a huge argument ;)

Jun 6, 2011 - @RWL2011 Sweet. I took mine to work today, and used them as studio moniters. 86 channels into one 2.1 system (through a mixing board though) and my work friends were impressed. One of them actually bought a set today :)
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 10, 2011 - @RWL2011 yeh, I live with it ;) But I seriously am considering going the extra mile and buying the top-of-the-line z5500s, mainly so I have a surround sound system. ;)
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 11, 2011 - @RWL2011 Okay. My room is also fairly small, but I'm a full-on gamer as well, and I want the surround. Also, the 10-inch sub is pretty beasty ;)
skinlicious43 mowi:
Jun 18, 2011 - @RWL2011 Nice. I managed to annoy the workers of a store, they had a set on display hooked up to a display model of a computer. I turned them up, maxed out the bass, and when it started playing, all I could hear was bass. It was amazing. Also, in Australia they're usually around 800 dollars, but I can get them for under 400, so I think I might :)
