May 10, 2011 - That should be impossible. Unless... the update changed the version number, but didn't actually finish installing. This can happen if you unplugged the Nano before it finished updating the firmware. You might have to "restore" it, and then update to V 1.1 again. (Use iTunes to do it)

May 22, 2011 - By doing things that would activate the icons. ie having a mic+earphone enables the Voice Memo icon. Downloading an Audible audiobook enables the Audiobooks icon, and so on.

Oct 20, 2011 - i called up apple company and i found out that my ear phone was not plugged in propertly. The ear phones plug should not be lose and at the tip of it, you should not see the silver area when u plug it into ur ipod nano. Hope that helps.

Nov 2, 2011 - MY IPOD'S SLEEP/WAKE BUTTON GOT STUCK! Apparently that button isn't really designed for such button clicking madness, like when you have to double tap to skip to the next track.

Nov 2, 2011 - If you are still under warranty ship it back to Apple for repairs. I have started using a Bose MIE2i controls to do volume up/down, next track, and play/pause. There are other adapters too.
