May 5, 2012 - just to make sure, you are only allowed to drive on the left lane while overtaking another vehicle. you must keep driving right. ;) left lane -> overtaking lane. so keep driving right. 3:20 is a good example. but you are allowed to drive left, if someone in front of you is also on the left lane. so if he keeps driving left, you are also allowed to drive left. e.g. 2:00 . if he changes the lane to drive right, overtake him and change too. that's the left lane law ;) greetz from Frankfurt

May 10, 2012 - Here in Germany the police usually doesn't care about speed excess of less than 10 km/h. And more to it, fines a relatively low, at least compared to other european countries, the police has to use exact devices, and they have to subtract 3 km/h from every measurement taken - just to keep people from trying the result in court. Got fined for doing 82 in a 70 zone - 20 euros Speedo showed 87. Oops. Annoying, but not a catastrophe. Next time I drive 80 as usual and everything will be fine.

May 10, 2012 - 20 euros for speeding! Wow. Here, the minimum fine is $133 (about 100 euros) and that's for less than 12 under the limit. Go 40 over the limit and there you have a $1100 (800 euros) fine. Not to mention the speed limits here are attociously low. They are set so low that nearly everybody speeds and the government can maximise income from speed cameras. I've been to the UK & France and from what I saw there, speed limits were much higher for similar road conditions.

I've been over 200km/h before in minimal traffic on a highway without any problems. I found I did not take my attention off driving at all. I was not even tempted to play with my phone or anything. May 10, 2012 - i wouldnt say so cause if u go that fast and if u said u look in ur mirror often so that u dont block a faster vehicle behind u then it wouldnt make sense to jump between left and middle lane every 10 or 15 secs when u already see the next slower cars in the middle lane ull overtake some seconds later !

May 17, 2012 - The rule isn't to stay out of the left lane, but to drive on the right lane. As long you don't hinder a faster one from behind and dont drive left lane for hours without overtaking, police doesn't care.
