May 23, 2012 - No, religion provides meaning for those who have researched the good and bad history behind it. The Bible NEVER condones rape. The old testament is about a time long ago where things happened much like they still do in uncivilized areas. People have murdered in the name of atheism and religions but that doesn't define either one. There are good and bad people in everything. If I do a study and find out some sex offenders are atheists can I use your logic and blame atheism of sex offenses?

May 23, 2012 - Honest atheists should admit they bought into differing factions (denominations) of a belief system or religion called Atheism. Now I don't believe denominations in Christianity serve any good purpose. We have one bible and if we stuck to Jesus' words more than any other part the world would know Christianity is not what they see on tv.

May 23, 2012 - That's funny because in "Western" religion since you love to divide God's children have a saying in there bible. Man can not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from his mouth. For instance I do not assume that all Easterners are too busy criticizing Western religion to keep themselves spiritually grounded just because that seems to be the case with you. Of course you don't have to endorse anything but I think you should fully state that you are saying you don't endorse a method of escaping a Nazi camp with you life over philosophy. Worldly needs mean nothing if your faith is strong enough to meet your inner needs. Worldly needs mean nothing to religion period. The whole point of religion is to be concerned with that which is eternal. The earth will pass away someday and there will be no worldly things nor will I be worldly but I KNOW I'll exist.
