Jun 4, 2011 - I have the same motor in my chevy tahoe, never did a timing chain. I have 125000 miles on it, do you think its time for a new chain, if so do i need to drop the oil pan. please e-mail me.

Jun 29, 2011 - You have about 90K left till you might need one, But when you change the timing chain you want to drop the pan so you dont get antifreeze in the oil

Sep 18, 2011 - Geat video! Couple of questions. 1. When the timming chain is installed whith all alingment points set, is their suppose to be any tension on the chain? I know sum timming belts have to have tension to have accurate timming alingment. 2. What is that tool called that you used to get additional degrees you needed while torquing the heads. Please keep uploading, youre very informative..........

Sep 26, 2011 - you will find a timing chain will tend to have a little slack even when new, the tool i used is called a torque angle gauge

Oct 25, 2011 - how do you adjust the pushrods on the motor so it can run

Oct 28, 2011 - I have a question if the actual head of the main head bolt breaks off will it have any affect on the motor? Also will changing it require any additional head work?

SCARBAND mowi:

Nov 28, 2011 - generally chains should last the life of your engine. if a head gasket replacement is nessesary you might wanna just go ahead and replace it. timing belts on the other hand need replacement after 100.000 mi..

Jan 24, 2012 - Hi their. I have a 283 chevy Engine, I bought it. I took the intake out and seems that the head gaskets are installed wrong. Do you think maby that's why the engine shuts off when I time it correctly? Loses compression. thank you.

Feb 15, 2012 - Is it better to have both heads rebuilt if just one gasket has failed?

Mar 18, 2012 - This video is sick. We are doing the intake gaskets on the v8 vortec. The coolant is leaking just under the thermostat. While we have the manifold off, im wondering where are the trouble spots to look for around the header gasket covers.

Apr 29, 2012 - I have a 1994 gmc sierra 2500. The spark plug wires have a ton of clips holding them and they run from a metal strip bolted to the engine. I did the plugs and wires and noticed that they were not changed. I also noticed that one or two laid against that metal strip with the plastic holder connected. I ran the engine for a while to see how hot it got and it didnt get hot like the other things. will this metal burn through the wires or is it designed not to and just to hold them?

May 17, 2012 - I'm thinking about buying a 88 2500 with a 350 TBI motor. Guy states that its been leaking slowly over a year and says its deffinantly internal. Would this be a good buy for 800 bucks? it's a k2500 LD. I'll be using it to pull a horse trailer and my 98k1500 Solid Axle'd every once and a while to mud events. You think this would be a good buy..? Gasket kit is 60 bucks, head bolts are 17, thermostat is 8 bucks... I'll do all the work myself, and ive always just took some "cookies" to clean off mat

May 17, 2012 - mating surfaces... I never had them decked, unless a bent valve or some other object was bad in it. just let me know asap. thanks. jon
