May 11, 2012 - I don't know of that many Led Zeppelin covers other than this and maybe 2 or 3 more. I wasn't trying to come off as offensive, btw, so sorry if I sounded that way. I live with a one-legged tweaker who stays up all night making weird noises, turning lights on, opening windows and stuff. When it's cold outside. In the middle of the night. Stuff. That turned into ranting pretty fast. Anyways. Point is I'm usually irritated late at night.

May 21, 2012 - No disrespect but I disagree with you a little. I love the title credits, but I thought the song was a poor choice. Dont get me wrong. Love Zeppelin, T/A, & Karen, but a cover of "Immigrant song"? With all that talent I would've thought that Trent, Atticus, & Karen would deconstruct one of their own songs like Trent did for "Closer" in Se7en? I REALLY wanna like this, but it feels & sounds like a cop-out. Karen O should've done a cover of "March of the Pigs" or "Wish" w/ Trent before this.

May 22, 2012 - 50% agree. The opening credit sequence was awesome, but not so monotonous that it looks like a music video,aka bond intro. I listened to the DVD commentary w/ Fincher & he was listening to Zeppelin looking at locations & he thought the song fit Lisbeth perfectly. He also said he wanted a famous anthemic rock song the audience would recognize, but he wanted it sung by a women. Fincher very briefly mentions that Trent didn't really like the idea at first, & thought he was joking.

May 22, 2012 - The cover isn't bad, but like you said not necessary & in my opinion a distraction. Trent has the musical talent of 3 people. He's a 1 man band. I think they would've done something different if Fincher didn't have the song he wanted for the sequence already picked out. The literary references to the books in the lyrics are awesome, but the song made the opening credits a tough transition. A good cover used improperly as it should've played w/ the end credits, in another scene, or not at all.
