Jan 29, 2008 - It's as if there were more than one instrument were being played at the same time! Very musical indeed; i enjoyed this perfomance thoroughly : ) Oh, and i hear that the harp is the most difficult instrument to keep tuned. If thats the case, then your are a wonderful musician and an expert mechanic as well! Congrats : P

Feb 15, 2008 - You know what this means, is she has to practice while wearing those heels. I mean she can't practice wearing just socks or sneakers, because the balance would be completely different when she used the pedals. Think about it. She's at home in her pajamas practicing at 9am but she has to wear her high heels to do it.

Feb 16, 2008 - And I find it amusing that you're an idiot for making your remark not knowing that "fuge" is German for "fugue" and therefore likely the spelling Bach would titled with himself.
FairyHarper mowi:
Feb 19, 2008 - That is the proper position for a harp player and if its anything else they can injure themselves
ArtDecoEsq mowi:
Feb 22, 2008 - Actually, "Fuge" is the German spelling, which would be most apt, since Bach was German.

Apr 9, 2008 - what do the pedals do? are like the ones on a piano?
jubenvi2 mowi:
Apr 9, 2008 - The pedals allow the harpist to play in various keys by sharping or flatting(Raising or lowering of pitch by tightening or loosening) of strings. The pedals on a piano affect the length of time the note sounds.
flutediva92 mowi:
Apr 10, 2008 - The pedals raise or lower the pitch of the strings by a semitone, like the black keys on a piano, except there's one pedal for each note and you can depress or raise the pedal to change the pitch of every note with the same letter name -ie the c-pedal affects all the c-strings and so on. Hope this helped :)
ZutroyPeter mowi:
Apr 12, 2008 - They sharpen or flatten the strings. The harp is normally tuned to C-flat major, so all the notes are flat.

May 29, 2008 - how do the pedal systems work on this and why are there so many?
DrAugustusValdes mowi:
May 30, 2008 - candieneh24, I belive that is how you get a sharp or flat to a certain not... there isn't a B flat string... just a B string... so you need to pedal make a B flat someone please correct me if I am wrong I play bass and have no idea what I am doing
Alu10000 mowi:
Jun 19, 2008 - Each pedal correspond to a note (from A to G) and each pedal can have three position. So each note can be flat, natural or sharp. The A pedal works on all the A(s) of the harp, the B pedal works on all B(s) and so on.

Jul 22, 2008 - How did you get a lever harp for 400? 400 what? I got mine for $1200 , 27 string, and a 33 string for $2500.

Pedal harps are heavier though, which is a pain for transport. Sorry if it's hard to read; I didn't have enough space.
