Oct 31, 2008 - Yer remember it well, Jenny Handley was a bit of alright and I liked the theme, and it was much better than the stuffy Blue Peter, Magpie was cool.

Feb 24, 2009 - And one of the few progs which had the Southern Tv ident (with the plinky acoustic guitar) - along with Worzel Gummidge and the Famous Five. If you lived in London then sometimes - when the atmospherics were good - you could tune your shitty b&w telly 4th channel to wobbly dotty Southern. God we were bored...

May 20, 2009 - Psychedelic and very 1970s. What is the name of the style of lettering the programme's name appears in? That style of lettering is as much part of the 70s as art deco was part of the 1930s. The Goodies' title and the name on Spangles packets was also in the same style.

Sep 1, 2009 - Panda limeade. Fish fingers. Beans on toast. I was brought up in the Southern region. Anyone remember 'Cydrax' non-alcoholic pop drink which had a small amount of cider in ("produced in Devon using real cider")? There was a pear version too.

Oct 24, 2010 - The Magpie logo at the end always reminds me of a set of false teeth, I don't know why.

Nov 16, 2010 - Blue Peter, for posher children and a better world. Not like this bunch of riff-raff

Feisty1967 mowi:

Nov 21, 2010 - I completely agree, or though our family wasn't particularly posh, we lived in a Council house but I was slightly better educated and an animal lover. At least Blue Peter had animals on it. I had much higher ideals as a child than Magpie.
